How much do kitesurfing lessons cost in 2026?

·6 min read

What kitesurfing lessons really cost in 2026 — hourly rates, full beginner course prices near Zadar, what is included, and how to budget your kite trip to Croatia.

How much does a kitesurfing lesson cost?

Across Europe, kitesurfing lessons usually run between €50 and €150 per hour, depending on the school and whether you book private or group tuition. Croatia sits at the good-value end while still using premium gear.

At our school in Ljubač near Zadar the entry point is the 2-hour Discovery course at €150 — safety, wind theory and trainer-kite control before you touch the water.

Single lessons or a full beginner course?

Most people who want to ride away on a board need 6 to 12 hours of tuition, so a course is almost always better value than paying hour by hour.

Our Beginner course is €420 for 6 hours over 2–3 days, and the Advanced course is €720 for 12 hours over 3–4 days — enough for most students to get riding upwind.

What is included in the price?

A fair quote includes everything: a current Duotone or North kite, board, harness and neoprene shoes, all safety gear, and an IKO-certified instructor with a maximum of two students.

Watch for schools that advertise a low price then charge extra for equipment, insurance or shared kites. Dedicated gear speeds up your progress.

How to budget your whole kite trip

Beyond the course, your main costs are accommodation and food. Ljubač keeps both reasonable: free beach parking and local restaurants cheaper than Zadar town.

A realistic week: the €420 beginner course (or €720 advanced), a mid-range apartment and relaxed meals out — far less than the Atlantic or tropics.

Is it worth the money?

Learning on the shallow, sandy Ljubač flats means soft falls and easy restarts, so you waste fewer hours — and less money — than in deep or choppy water.
